Published June 27, 2019, the Gartner Customer Service Technology Vendor Guide and other Gartner reports are instrumental in helping technology buyers analyze the wide variety of solutions that are available in different industries for different end-user market segments. In our case, it’s the field service management market, which includes scheduling and dispatching work, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and ordering and reporting on work performed (among many others).

- Support for top customer service (CX) initiatives, such as customer analytics, voice of the customer (VoC) and multi-channel interactions. CX matters! (So does innovation pace.)
- The ability to “future proof” your technology investments. Look for a solution that can incorporate refinements and respond to shifting business scenarios as they occur. To that end, you should look for vendors that offer virtual customer assistants (VCAs), consumer messaging apps and innovative speech technologies.
- An “automation first” mindset. Find your best-fit vendor by prioritizing those with native AI and real-time automation capabilities. Give special consideration to those vendors that can accelerate time-to-value with complementary technology areas, such as hybrid integration platforms (HIPs), master data management (MDM) and business process management (BPM).
